Thanks guys!!  It truly is the best feeling :)  And now no more very expensive driving lessons.

congrats! yes please give pointers, im taking my 3rd test nxt wk and really want to pass it! i think i would have passed last time but i was so nervous my leg shook and i stalled the car twice in a row and that failed me :( did u do anything to calm down? please share! lol

Jdawg - honestly I don't have any pointers or tips.  I really thought I'd failed.  I get so nervous when taking tests that I freak out.  It's as though I need to get it out of my system.  I had to do the reserving around a corner and I stopped and put on the handbrake 7 times.  But once I "gave up" and thought I had nothing to lose because I'd failed I did everything else so well.  I also refuse to talk about anything before hand; I ignore the fact that something that is such a big deal to me is coming up.  No friends knew I was taking the test and my DH knows much better than to wish me luck before anything like this or to treat me special in anyway.

Oh, wait, I also talked to myself the entire test..."first you check the mirrors, then you check for bikes, good Larissa.  Okay, now signal.  And signal goes off, very important! Steer back, check rearview mirror...not too fast, be good, it's a 30."  Sounds slightly crazy (my driving instructor says it's fairly normal - who knows) but it really works for me.

What typically calms you down before something big?

lol i dont know, ive really never felt so stressed and under pressue until i sat the UK driving exam haha. Like you, I am not telling anyone I am taking it...I've changed the date as well for an earlier date and am getting a bit of practice too...I think I freaked out last time because my instructor was late so we couldn't go for an hour pre-test drive and headed straight to the centre. (I have a new instructor who is a great friend and is cheaper too lol). Also the examiner was a bit rude and I tried to talk to him to ease nerves but that didn't work out. I had lots of sleep and ate well...so I'm not quite sure what relaxes me. I'm definately not going to think about it and I believe not telling people will help. Last time I got tons of 'good luck' texts and stuff, so none of that this time :).
