Whats that smell?
« on: August 06, 2005, 07:31:53 PM »
Im in my third trimester now and my increase in smell is so huge now. I swear I can smell curry being cooked from 10 houses away, lol. It can be bad though especially if its a not so good smell. Like my silly hubby leaving food in the bedroom for days on end and trying to hide the evidence.. I can smell it right away and sniff it out to its location :D
Anyone else have or had this during their last trimester?

you do get that with mums during the begining or throughout your pregnancy...the only explanation I know is of hormone influx. A friend of mine in the first weeks of pregnancy started to be hypersensative to rice...the smell of rice cooking would make her boak....some mums get a metalic taste on their tongues..I did and began craving skittles and other super sugary sweets to mask the taste.

But never fear, gentlemen; castration was really not the point of feminism, and we women are too busy eviscerating one another to take you on.

I was like that my first trimester, too.  But smells that effected me then I still can't smell!  Chemical air freshners, for example.  And Ristorante pizzas.  Yuk!  Even nearly 3 years later.

I had that, but only with the smell of cooking chicken.  Couldn't stand to be within 100 yards of someone cooking the stuff, the entire 40 weeks.  I thought it went away after I had my son, but my husband roasted a chicken a few weeks ago and I had to leave the house it made me feel so ill!

Yeah, sometimes it just sticks for life.  Chemical air freshners and Ristorante pizzas.  Boak!  Even now.

I had that my whole pregnancy with Philip - which was partly why I ended up eating only the blandest things I could find. No taste to make me sick, no smell to make me sick.... just loads of starch to make me fat! :)
I'm done moving. Unrepatriated back to the UK, here for good!

Yeah, but then just think:  no more periods, no more need for birth control, kids all grown up, freedom, fun . . .

As my mom said, 'After bringing up kids, by the time you hit menopause, you'll be ready to welcome it w/open arms.'  She enjoyed being a mom, but she really, really enjoys being her own woman these days.   ;D

Hell, my sister's 38 and already looking forward to it - of course, she has a pre-teen on her hands.
