Kicking and 'booting'
« on: August 05, 2005, 11:52:21 AM »
Is it just me, or do all fetuses prefer to start kicking - DH refers to it as 'booting' - and squirming around after 11PM??

Does this mean a future nightowl?

Yeah they do! I read somewhere that during the day when you are active they are soothed by the movement but at night when you are resting they wake up and become active.

My brother used to do that, and we think it was because my Mom always had Oreos and Milk around that time.  He was like "Yeah! Party!"  After he was born, he'd be fed and put to bed at normal time, but would wake up around 11 pm looking for a feed!  Are you a late-night snacker?  ;D

:D Yup, Our girl, looooooooves to kick me around that time, it gets harder around 1-2am. She kicks me so hard sometimes that I can see my shirt jumping up lol. She was doing summersaults inside me last night ;D
Funniest thing was when my guy put his head to my tummy to try and listen for her heart, she kicked him in the head, lol.

Philip always seemed to kic me the most at bedtime, which was at that point around 10 pm. I always felt like he was kicking and complaining that I had the nerve to go to bed! He wanted to play! And his personality as a toddler seems like I was right. ;)

Aillidh would kick me all night.  Sometimes DH would wake up, put his hand on my belly and he could feel her booting away.
