Using credit card for cash
« on: September 24, 2005, 10:39:03 PM »
Has anyone ever used their credit card to access cash in the UK?  I have a US credit car, with a large limit, and I would like to get as much cash out as possible, how would I go about doing this.

Thanks

go to a cash machine.......some cards have a withdrawal limit per day.........or you can go to the bank and ask to make a withdrawal on the card.........but your card is going to charge you mega to withdrawal cash on it......

Do you have a pin number for your card? The cash machines here ask for your personnel pin number.........if the card has one that is..........

I'd recommend contacting your bank first and find out the fees. Some charge outrageous fees & make you pay it all back within a certain time limit or you are hit with more penalty fees. Example: My SIL withdrew £800 from her creditcard, they told her she has to pay it back within 30 days or she will be charged a fee. But it that isnt a concern of yours, like Meshell said if you have  a visa or mastercard, it has a pin number, you should've received it when you got your card, you can go to any cashpoint that has your creditcard logo. If you don't have your pin anymore your bank will send you out a new one if you request it,although it takes a few weeks.
