Iam very much addicted to ice tea much to the horror of my hubby  Hehehehehehehe.Id rather drink coffee then hot tea but then again Iam addicted to coffee too.

Haha I too am an iced tea addict.  It's a real pity you can't get it in restaurants in the UK.  I remember a few years back Sean and I visited a restaurant in Shropshire that was pretending to be a true American Diner.  We went in, sat down.. the waitress came over to take our drink orders, I asked for Iced Tea, she said they didn't have it.  I asked for Dr. Pepper, they didn't have that either.  I told them, in a polite way, they weren't very American. ;)

Btw, I've ALWAYS thought Coke in England tasted very flat compared to what you get in the states.  Thought it was just me!  It doesn't taste bad.. just not as much flavor or strength.  :-X

Elle (my wife) also had to get used to less ice too, or at least not having ice as readily available as it was in the States.  In the states they put ice in your drink as a matter of normallity, in the UK you have to ask for ice and they look at you strangely when you ask for "a lot of ice"....you watch them put another couple of ice cubes in the glass and you say "can you fill you the glass full of ice." and then they look at you oddly again. :P

Hahaha.. yes, definitely know that one all too well.  Although I have to say, as expensive as a single cola drink can be in the UK (not to mention the glass it arrives to your table in is usually not much larger than a shot glass), I'm quickly learning to do WITHOUT ice.

$3 for 2 sips of warm, flat coke...  :(

I'm really gonna have to learn to start liking this hot tea everyone keeps raving about.  I'm not entirely sure I'll ever understand the appeal.

a good trick is to ask for a separate glass of ice with your drink; oh and on the iced tea issue ... most places will make it if you ask ... I recently asked for one in a restaurant that didn't list it on the menu - they didn't turn a hair but I could see them running around fetching ice cubes to cool down the just brewed tea ... it took them about 10 minutes but it was delicious when I got it.

sorry .. back to the flat cola debate ..
