I was thinking............

I was wondering are there any other folks who are not American on these boards. I was just thinking about it, as most folks are either married to an American or a Brit. I myself consider myself British (have the passport and all my family here!) but in fact I am originally from S.Africa.  I love the USA and hope one day to live there as my in-laws have made their home there.  I enjoy reading these boards as I find people from the US to be friendly and very open, I that South Africans, Ozzies are similar.  I find sometimes here in the UK people tend to be so wary of you if one strikes up a conversation with a stranger - but that is the only way one can make friends and get to know people. Being an expat is hard enough…

Yep, British born and bred, but lived in America too.   I've been back in England about 9 years, but had it not been for family issues I would no doubt still be in the States.

I'm british too and  have just returned from living in US for 3 years - soooooooooooo glad to be home as well

I'm British born, but hadn't lived here for many many years before moving back two years ago. I actually spent much more time living in the US than in the UK.
