Clarification please?
« on: September 02, 2005, 05:26:15 PM »
My UK fiance is reluctant to send his passport to me for my fiance visa application.  He's afraid he will get into trouble for allowing it to leave the country.  I told him that it is done, it will be alright, but he asked me to please double check.  He won't get into trouble for sending it to me for this reason, will he?  Thank you!

Yes, heaven help us that a passport should leave this sceptred-isle  ::)

Have him certify the portrait page and any non-blank pages and send the copies to you...

There is no reason he would get in trouble for sending his passport to you.  He's just being paranoid.  I took my husband's passport back to the States with me when I applied for my spousal visa and then returned it to him when I returned to him after I had received said visa.  He can send you certified copies if he feels better about it and doesn't want his passport to leave his person, for whatever reason, like Garry said.  But, as long as he is not planning on travelling outside the UK for a bit, there is NO reason why he shouldn't send you the actual passport.

Thank you for that, it is what I thought, but he is as nervous as I am, I guess!  And, Garry, that made me smile too! :D
