These children were HOW OLD when they got pregnant?

They should have been removed from their parents for neglect.  It's been done here before.

I'm sorry - but that is child molestation, NOT just sex.  Anyone who would have sex with a 12 year old needs to have their head examined.

Sick. Sick. Sick.

Really, all said and done, it boils down to the parents and what they allow their children to do . . . what they talk to them about, what they teach them . . .

My mom worked as a secretary in the neonatal intensive care unit- very sick babies and all. She used to run into the 12 year old mothers, etc. . . It was so sad because they didn't really know ANYTHING- one asked her (before the baby was born) questions because mom was the only one who would answer nicely and kindly- but the girls questions were things like "when do their eyes open"- they really had NO idea about what she'd gotten herself into. . . Kids need to be supervised- she had no real idea of the consequences- there's no way she really could know. . .

I had my son a month after my 21st birthday- I was an unwed single naive little girl- but I have NEVER used public assistance- as long as I can work and support us, I see no reason to use my son as a "meal ticket" like my EXboyfriend (son's fatrher) and his family wanted us to. My suggestion to "get a job" was met by him moving out of state and vnever having contact again. And we were 21 and 23. . . It's hard enough THIS young- I can't imagine doing this any earlier.

mwrkgreen-
yup I agree, as soon as our daughter shows an intrest in boys, that is the time to have the sex talk. I certaintly wouldn't wait for the schools or a television program teach her!

I'm 23 years old , Dale is 20, and I think we are too young to have a daughter, but she is our responsibility now and we certainly won't be living off taxpayers and we wont have family members take care of her for us

I met a mum through a parents forum that happened to live near me so we met...she was 20 and lived in a flat that was £1000 a month...although she was with her partner she claim Lone parent and got money from Jobseekers income support plus a host of other stuff making quite a few quids a week...do you know where this money went to?

Brent Cross shopping centre ..she spent £34 at Thortons , THORTONS!!! on top of that she got a loan of £700 from income support which I don't know how (she told me but I was seething to even grasp) Toys for her girl , lingerie ....new phones and clothes...

of course some went for food (take aways)

Her BF runs a suntanning busines with his family and he gave her money on top of that.

It was the unabashed manner the way she flaunted it that just drove me nuts !! AND she acted like I was an idiot for not doing it myself!! ::)

DH was so pissed off that he told me never ever let her in the house... :-[

I love the "You idiot- milk it for all it's worth" attitude some folks have about being an unmarried mother.

Skip whatever's in the well-being of the child, or the social ethics involved. . .

Shoot- I work my TAIL off to keep my son in a private run home daycare because I don't want him being cared for by untrained masses at the downtown center. . . (my town only- not making a sweeping comment about state-run childcare elsewhere)

And I am a snob for it.  ;D

In the show they mentioned how none of the fathers were in the childs life and how the boys wanted nothing to do with the girl or the baby. that doesn't surprise me though.
They didn't mention that 39yr old on the show though. That is just disgusting! If any 39yr old touched my teenage daughter, I'd probably end up in jail
I do blame the mother however. because she let these boys sleep over in the house thinking nothing will happen ::)

He was 37 at the time he fathered the baby w/the 15 year old.  It was all over the news. And no, he wasn't ever prosecuted.  Yes, the mothers let the 'boys', all who were older than her daughters, have sex in the house.  Now she complains that the council needs to rehouse them b/c they're living in overcrowded conditions.  Boohoo.

Yes, Alicia, SIL also has the latest mobile, buys £70 jeans from Diesel and FCUK like she's in ASDA, lives in a newly redecorated flat worth about £100,000 (She claims she 'saved' from her benefits.  We make so little paying her benefits we literally can't save anything) and of course, spends £35/week on fags.

Then she complained when DH's parents gave him a loan of their old car - she doesn't have a license and 'can't afford' driving lessons, much less pay insurance, tax, MOT, repairs, etc.   She tried her luck at using us as a taxi service - b/c waiting for the bus in the rain is 'such a bother' (yeah, try doing it daily to get to work to pay for her) - but we wouldn't answer when she rang.  Don't have spare money for petrol and she wouldn't offer to pay us a pence for it.

How about that 17 year old getting off her butt, get a job & getting her own house instead of overcrowding at that house and once the 15 year old is out of school she can do the same thing. They are probably the kind of girls who will live at home with their parents until they meet some guy and move in with him, instead of taking responsibility for themselves and their baby

I wouldn't let her in my home either Alicia, thats just wrong. It really makes me angry when people receive child support or benefits for a child and they spend it on materialistic things for themselves instead of the child which its intended for. And for her to actually flaunt that just shows what kind of person she is. I feel bad for her child.

I am glad you all agree with me, I was worried I may have offended some people by this topic

I see too many young mums both here and the US milking it ...in V.A. guys getting jobseekers allowance yet working cash in hand jobs then spending it at the Mall...young mums with their children kitted out in matching Babyphat clothes..then the ones that could use that extra boost financially are either "too well off" for goverment standards or don't want the stigma that comes with claiming benefits... :P
