relocation from seattle to bristol in July
« on: May 11, 2004, 10:42:04 PM »
anxious, and wondering what awaits me in the UK.  Have been many times as a visitor, however now as a single mom of a 13 yr/old am conservatively nervous but at the same time excited. anyone in the group in the same or a very recent transition, any advice?

No real advice but just had to say WELCOME!!  YEAH more people in the West!

I know there are other women with kids in your daughters age group and I am sure they will offer some good tips.

I hope to read more posts in the future and again welcome to UKY!

Hi and Welcome....Good Ole Peep was sure to let us know there was another mother of a teenager!! I have a 14 year old daughter and am heading over to Crewe, Cheshire England in August...I am excited and nervous also. When it comes to our kids we always are afraid we arent making the right choices. My daughter seems excited about the move...how does your teenager feel?? Feel free to ask any question..but since I am in the process myself not sure how much help i can be..but maybe we can muddle through it together!

Helena

I think it's a great opportunity for kids!
I really like Bristol. My stepson and his wife live right in the heart of it and we see them fairly regularly. (Oh to be young and have a small flat right in the middle of a city!) Whereabouts in Bristol will you be?
Married to Graham, we run our own open-source computer training company in beautiful Wiltshire out of our 1814 Georgian Regency home (a former lodging house and once featured in Antiques Roadshow)

Welcome Nan, one thing for certain, you won't be the only Americans in Bristol.  You have come to the right place for support with any info or for support during the adjustment period. :)

Is the relocation for a certain time period, or indefinate?
