calling the UK without taking out a mortgage

i've been using 1010987 to ring birmingham.

the rates so far have been excellent--loads cheaper than trying to use a calling card mobile to mobile.

anyone else had success with this?

Wow and I thought 1016868 was good.  It's 13 cents/minute to a UK-mobile.

Hmm never heard of it? So, you just call that number then the mobile number or how does it work? I am confused as to how it works from a mobile? 

Has anyone tried pc to pc calls? Im not sure how the reception would be from the US to the UK but I use it to call my friends here in the UK and its crystal clear.

I've only used the yahoo messenger pc to pc calls, it started out pretty clear but not the best quality after a bit has been my experience. I have never tried any others, have been thinking of looking into Skype (spelling??) that was mentioned on here.

Frank and I used to use Netmeeting for video and chat. It worked pretty well but we couldnt talk over one another which is a big problem I have! lol

LOL hey that's my main problem with Yahoo 

i used to use that, paid about $80 a month though. now i use lingo and only pay $21.

This is what my family uses, they love it.

I use the Bizon Int'l card that you can be purchased online. CHEAP CHEAP cost 2 1/2 cents per min to the UK

I adore 10-10-987, it's what I use to call my boyfriend in Edinburgh when I can.  I wish it had good mobile rates, as it's not always easy to get a hold of the land line, but it's the best if you're not using a cel.

most people use a headset, but hubs bought on ebay this little box thingie, you hook that up to your pc and a real phone up to the box.  its just like a regular phone call!  WE LOVE SKYPE!
