Recognition?
« on: October 10, 2005, 06:30:34 PM »
Last month, my fiance and I went to the registry office where we will be getting married in a few days.  Just now though, I started thinking about what one of the lady's at the office told me.  She stated, " We cannot guarantee that your marriage will be recognized in the States (seeing as I'm from the US)."

My questions are::

Is this something I need to worry about?

and if so..

What are the steps for my soon to be hubbie and me to let the States know about and recognize that we got married?   ??? :-\\\\

Thanks

That's weird. I havent heard that. We had a registry office wedding. Nobody mentioned a word to us. What difference does it make where you get married as long as you have a licence? Hmmm.....I am curious to see what the others say about this. There are a lot of registry office weddings on here!

No, this is NOT something to lose even one wink of sleep over.  They tell people of any nationality that aren't British that, as an over-precautionary thing.  Some countries wouldn't recognise it, this true...but, The U.S isn't one of those countries.

Just keep your marriage certificate handy when travelling...  no one will bat an eye.

Worry not!

I was born in the Summer and at Night...my mother named me AUTUMN DAWN.  True story.

EMAIL or PM me for information about gigs or about booking me (solo gig) or the band.

Liza~  I had my signature made ages ago specially for me by some lovely people; however, they stopped making them.  :\\\'(  I'm sure though if you search in google, and type in "free signature", or something along that line, there are still gracious people out there that will make one for you.   :D

I have seen them somewhere. Search 'free gif images' and start looking through sites.
