I am in the same boat as you.  There is definately a different taste to the bread over here, that said I have recently discovered Asda's granery bread which is definately my favorite so far!  But have a feeling that you are looking for white bread, so it probably isn't any help at all. :-/

Glad to know I wasn't the only child so abused!   ;)

I didn't get Kool-Aid either as a kid.  We drank Publix Brand Iced Tea mix and Funny Face -  [smiley=mad.gif] - we had the whole collection of plastic mugs!   :)

Goodness, that reminds me of the jelly jar glasses we used to have, lol. I had loved those, with cartoon characters on them. :)

And (to completely hijack this thread!) what about the glasses you got as a premium from the gas stations?  Or should I say, most of our PARENTS got at the gas stations?!  ;D

We had a set of NFL ones - the last one standing being the Miami Dolphins.  Then one of my kids broke it.  Then I found one - like a miracle! - at a thrift shop.

So the replacement sits in my mother's cupboard now because we were too scared to tempt fate and bring it along!   :)

This is an old thread, but I've just recently started returning here.  Registered in January of this year and always forget how great this site is..

Anyway.. I find most breads there are too heavy.  I don't like my toast very toasted.  I like it to be quite soft and light.  Closest I've found to what I usually have in America (Holsum) is actually one of the cheapest brands there - Sunblest.

Got an entire loaf once and fed it to the ducks.. they seemed in favor of it too  ;D
