We both love the idea of eventually settling in Nova Scotia or another part of Canada (Nova Scotia because of the strong Scottish element). I've been there, and it's gorgeous. It would be cheaper to live there, there's economic growth and Nova Scotia wants immigrants (unlike a lot of the UK), it's more like the UK (especially Scotland) than many parts of the US, it would be much easier for my fiance to get citizenship there, and it's closer to my family. PLUS, we'd both be expats together instead of just one or the other, in a "neutral" country.
So... what's a way for us to legally live in Canada together, if one of us is an American citizen and one of us is British? Anybody have any ideas?
