Personal Statement
« on: October 19, 2005, 11:17:12 AM »
I'm at a total loss when it comes to the personal statement. I can get to grips w/UCAS, financial aid and even the app form, but this part has been vexed!
Does anyone know of any good sites or books on this? Or even some ideas? I'm a bit reluctant to use the 'Poor lil American living in the UK' theme, but it's the best one I can think of.
Did any of you go down this route?

Can't you just write about why you're interested in studying whatever subject and why you want to study in the UK?

This is what I would do as well.

I'll write some friends of mine who work at the Uni I was working at in Surrey to ask them if there is anything else to write as well.  Couldn't hurt.

Oh yes please! Gosh Stacey, friends in high places  ;)
I've just got back from the Openday. It was great! Hubs went along and was ready to sign-up for the course himself! Ha ha!  ;D So yeah I'm well excited. Now on to this statement.... **panic*

Well, they seem to be saying the same thing Lola suggested.  So I would go with this.

Don't panic, just go with it, like a mini bio sort of.
