Yup there is a law against it in the states my friend went to a basketball game and there was a huge queue for the women's the men's was empty so she bolted into the men's and got into trouble.

That's really strange! Sometimes I go into the men's room at gas stations, if I'm desperate (trust me, you'd have to be desperate to go in there!) Usually, I'm in and out and no one notices. Most recently, this happened when a few girlfriends and I went to Nashville to see Coldplay. I was DESPERATE and went into the men's room. When I opened the door, there were a bunch of burly men, all of whom bursted into loud laughter. I, of course, laughed, too. As I was walking away, they noticed the toiled seat was up and I heard them commenting to themselves about whether or not I used it the same way they did. I turned around and shook my head! [I won't lie. I've gotten to where, if I want to 'hover', I leave the seat up. Better that than what it's like when hovering over a lowered seat.]

Okay, back to EnglandsYank question though. I think you'll probably have to start paying attention to the places where you and Dale go now and would likely need a changing table/way for Dale to take your little girl into the bathroom. It's not something you'd necessarily take notice of unless you need it. For the record, I don't know whether or not I'd let someone take my child (or my niece, as that's the closest thing to a child I've got at this point) into the bathroom. When I worked at Target's photo lab, I did help out a twenty-something year old man out with his little 4/5 year old niece by taking her into the bathroom. I stood outside the door while she took care of business, occasionally asking if she needed help with anything. It's not the best thing in the world to do, but I'm just thankful he happened to ask me, someone who's not a weirdo.

Oh, and I guess my brother-in-law does occasionally take my niece into the men's room, since my sister works full time and he's got my niece during the day a lot. I also see men doing this at malls/shops all the time.  It's one of those things where you and your husband have to decide what YOU'RE comfortable with.

I know!!! Everybody looked oddly at security guy but she got escorted out and I went out with her (she was the one that dragged me into the Basketball game in the first place :P) . He said if it was a guy that would have done that he would get the same treatment. I didn't help my friend kicking up a fuss but oh well.
But never fear, gentlemen; castration was really not the point of feminism, and we women are too busy eviscerating one another to take you on.

lol!! Just remember a trip to Glastonbury with Jess when she was 3 ...there are private showers and communal ones. We've been going to the private ones but the queue was too long so I put on her and we went in the communal one ..Most of the folk were facing the walls so all you saw were hippy bums and she said

"HEY that girl is nekid....EVERYBODY IS NAKID!! PUT A COSTUME ON!!"

lol!!

my story is off the point... but related to Alicia's communal story and to the toliet... one of the oddest public toilet set ups I experienced was  on a bus ride from Rwanda through Uganda. We stopped at this place with a fence and a large cement slab curved down towards a hole in the middle. All of the women went there and the men went to a regular disgusting squat indoor toliet. Even after two years of squatting in the bushes with mamas on long bus trips, I just couldn't drop trou in this set up although it was quite clean! So the two white girls stood in line with the African men and used the stall.  I never seemed to have mastered the stand up urination these women mastered.  :P

Keith takes Sophia into the mens room when they are out together and she doesn't seem to notice the difference.  She's just now 2.5 so it may be different in the future, but she is unscathed thus far!
