VAF2 Questions....
« on: October 12, 2005, 07:03:00 PM »
Ok, so I've finally got the ex's birth certificate and I'm filling out the visa apps for the girls.  Where it asks for the sponsor's country of residence, do I put US (where I am now) or UK (where I'll be arriving at the same time as the girls.)

Why am I confused?  ???  I work for the gov't...I've been filling out forms for the past 15 years!!!  :P
When I am grown-up I will understand how BEAUTIFUL it feels to administrate my life effectively.

Until then I will continue to TORCH all correspondence that bores me and to dance NAKED over the remnants of its still glowing embers.

I am slightly confused too.  On what basis are you making the application?  Who is the 'sponsor'?

I'm a dual US/UK citizen moving to the UK with my kids, who are US citizens only.  So while I don't need a visa, they do.  We are all moving at the same time.  Wouldn't I be their 'sponsor'?

Right, I understand now.  Yes, you are their sponsor.  I would say to put your address at the time of the application (ie the US) and enclose a letter explaining the situation.

Spent $40+ in FedEx charges to make sure the apps reached LA this morning.  Just went to the FedEx site and checked to see if the package had arrived....it hasn't even left St. George yet!!!  [smiley=furious3.gif] [smiley=furious3.gif] [smiley=furious3.gif] [smiley=furious3.gif]

Somebody please tell me not to panic.... :\\\'(

Oh no!  Sorry to hear that.  Is it possible that they just haven't updated their scans yet?  That has happened to me a few times when tracking packages with them.  I'm sure it'll be fine!  Fingers crossed for you.   :)

YAY!  Bet it feels great to have it ALL at last be legal, legit and ready to roll!

Hats off to you!  You've proved what staying patient and working w/the system can accomplish.

It feels WONDERFUL!!!  I would never risk taking the kiddos over w/out having all my ducks in a row first....it would be awful to have to live constantly looking over my shoulder, wondering when the immigration folks were going to catch up w/us!  :P

But now we're good to go!  ;D ;D ;D

See you next month...I'll take you out for a nice liver and onions dinner  :-X ...gotta' build up that iron!
