Well, after two hour-long interviews, I was told that I interviewed really well and would be perfect for the job, (I have 18 years experience) but they weren't hiring for that position and hadn't been for a couple of months.  I mailed the resume the day after the ad came out, and specified the position on my application.  I also had passed a three hour test session.
This must be the worst managed company on planet earth.  Interviewing for positions that don't exist?  How much time and money does this company waste in other areas?  I've never heard of a company doing this!

How truely bizarre.

Thanks for the support, everyone.  I know I will never get another job like the one I just lost, and will have to start over.
Odd that the standard of service one receives today to be inversely proportional to the complexity of the hiring systems in use.
A career coach I worked with even admitted that it is all BS, just a game a jobseeker needs to learn to play; being right for the job doesn't mean much at all.

Should we move this to grievances?   ;)
Often we do what makes sense even when it isn't any good.
