the latest Diana Gabaldon book
« on: November 29, 2005, 10:52:22 PM »
Has anyone read the newest Diana Gabaldon book ... A Breath of Snow And Ashes, yet?  Just curious.  I noticed in the newspaper the other day that it was out now.  I've not read it yet, but am anxious to get it!!

I LOVED all of her books ...The Outlander Series.

I think I secretly lusted after Jamie in my dreams !!! ha,ha.    [smiley=lipsrsealed2.gif]

I read it!
After struggling for a year thru the Fiery Cross....phew......

It is good......stills leaves it open for a sequel IMO........

i won't ruin it for you..........some twist and turns.........overall a decent read...not as good as the first few in the series........

I finished reading it a few weeks ago...I love the series! This book was more "action" and less "interaction" as far as I am concerned. I thought this was going to be the last book (so I could find out all about "Jamie's Ghost") but there is another one...argh!

In the first book Frank sees a highlander "ghost" looking up from the street into the window where Claire is in the light brushing her hair (does that make sense!) Anyway...D. Gabaldon has said that she will explain the whole episode in her last book...which I guess is the one after this one that just came out (which I don't think she has started writing yet as she is writing another Lord John Gray book)

I know...my fascination has waned a bit...but I will read the next book too, just because! (I really do think they are well-written...and I love all the historical facts.)

I too read the first few.. Absolutley had me spellbound and wishing for some standing stones of my own and my own Jaime.  ;D      However i still haven't been able to get through Fiery Cross, and found that the later books just haven't held my interest.. I too loved the historical references..

I myself kind of lost interest when things moved to the States, but then even with the first books, as much as I enjoyed them, it's about 200 years later than my period of real interest.

Bingo!  The only reason I read The Fiery Cross was to find out what happened to Jamie, only to find Jamie alive and well at the end of it.  And like MeShell, I did find it a laborious read.
