How bad I am I can remember the piece but I don't remember the name but it was Haydn "Meditations"....I think
What song(s) do you think would make a good wedding song?

A friend of ours plays in a band and composed and wrote a song for our reception but if we didn't have that we would probably be "In my life"

I let the registry pick it out because we didn't know what to pick. I asked for "something classical" so it turned out to be a lovely classical piece playing when I walked in the room. In the background was more soft classical music. OK basically, the theme here was, "classical"  I love classical music though so I was happy with their selections.

Just curious -
What was your wedding song?

We didn't have a wedding song that we entered the room into or anything. We were married in the local register office so whatever they played was nice. BUT what we danced to at our reception was more important. We chose "I Knew I Loved You" by Savage Garden. We didn't have to discuss it or anything. We met in chat room on Yahoo! Chat and were both amazed how alike we thought. 

"at last" by etta james is a personal favorite.  We only had a dinner, no dancing.  But we love, "you were meant for me" by Sting.

jennredd , I totally LOVE Sting. I'm a huge fan of all his music - from his Last Exit/Police days to now. I've met him twice in the space of a year: once at a tribute luncheon to him in Newcastle in May 2004 and the once at a book signing of his memoirs in Nov 2004! After being a fan for over 15yrs, I finally got to go to one of his concerts, which was absolutely brilliant too. Got to meet Chris Botti, my favourite jazz trumpeter, who opened for him as well.

I came down the aisle to "For Always" by Josh Groban.  My cousin sang the song though.  We wanted something fun for our first dance at the reception, so we chose "That's Amore!" 

We had a registrar's wedding too, but I would have liked 'You Make Me Feel Brand New' by the Stylistics (not the Simply Red cover!!). I also would have liked to play 'I Believe (When I Fall in Love It Will Be Forever)' by Stevie Wonder.

But actually, Nat King Cole is my all-time favourite singer, and the song I have considered our song, and that we play on our anniversary and for special occasions is 'I Remember You'. I love that song so much. That would have to be the one. In fact, I like it so much, I'll post the lyrics:

We did have that one, but that's not the one i was thinking of.... I've remembered now... it's 'Coney Island'.   We both loved the last line:  'Wouldn’t it be great if it was like this all the time?'   

Havent heard that song since our wedding day... so i've just played it and now im in a peacefully happy mood.
