I absolutely LOVE baby showers! I didn't know anyone felt negative towards them?! Baby shower games are so tacky and FUN ('cause I am competitive and just HAVE to win...hehehe!) I love giving showers...and felt like a pampered queen everytime one was given for me.
Plus, they are so practical...and definitely needed for the first time mom (I had multiple showers for all of my pregnancies so I was a bit spoiled I guess...but friends where I was living...and friends/family in my home town...all wanted to give me one every time. But you just have to have one the first time atleast!)
I've gone all out for friends and bought expensive gifts, and if invited to an acquaintance didn't feel badly about taking something like a pack of onesies...which aren't that expensive but very much needed! I love buying baby clothes...
have the shower...have the shower!!!! Most people want to "shower" your new one with gifts!
