Embassy appointment

Does anyone know how long it takes to get an appointment at the embassy in NYC once you fill out the online application and pay the fee?

If you're talking about making an appointment to apply in person, then you book it yourself online. When I applied at the Chicago consulate they had appointments as early as the next day but they don't book anything further than two weeks in advance.

You can go to the website and look at available apointments anytime. I just checked NY and it looks like there is nothing available at the moment probably because of the holiday. But, you can check here:

Just an FYI . . .the NY consulate is closed Mon, Dec. 26, Dec.27 and Dec.28. It looks as though they have no available appointments for the rest of Dec. You can, however use a facilitator to take your application into the consulate for you. They do not need appointments. It costs around $200-$250 and the britainusa.com site has a list of people that are registered to do such service.
