unmarried partners visa question
« on: December 19, 2005, 02:18:24 PM »
1) Of what does documentary evidence of cohabitation consist?

my partner lived with me for 3 in NYC years but maintained another address (don't ask) for forms' sake.

However she may have spent 10 nights at 'her' apt in 3 yrs.

Do you think we could qualify, she had some mail sent to my apartment, all her things were there.  I've since moved to London on an expat assignement (3 yrs - finance) and shes moved back into 'her' apt.

However, we'd like to be together here.  Money is not an issue

2)  If she secures this visa can she work?  She wants to continue her career.

They really look for bills, official letters, that sort of thing.  They need about 10 different items per year, from 5 different sources.
If the visa is approved, she will be able to work.

I suppose it's rather strict?   Not sure we could swing that.  She has credit cards in my name and cell phone bills etc.

Sad thing is we really did live together, more than people with one apt i think...
