Child's visa
« on: January 25, 2006, 12:22:04 PM »
Hi everyone!!!  :)
It is not clear when looking at the online visa form whether or not a whole new and separate application form has to be filled in for the child. There is a space on the form to fill in childs details and whether they are travelling with you but still it is not clear as to whether a separate app. needs to be made. Can anyone please say a definitive yes or no to this?? We are going Feb 13th to NY and i dont want to get there and find out I needed a separate application for my son - - - hes 10.

Thanks
Melissa and David

I needed separate forms for each of our girls.  That was for ILE, don't know if it's different for Spousal.

Gosh, I can't remember...sorry. I do know that I got my children's settlement visas at the same appointment as my own and that I did not have to bring them along with me. I THINK I only filled out their info on my own application (which I filled out online)...I did have to bring a letter from their biological dad stating that he was giving them permission to move with me to the UK. In the letter you cannot state that they can move here for a specified time...it has to be stated it is permanent (even if it is not...we're moving back as soon as my husband's visa is approved.) I don't know if that applies to your situation or not. The letter has to be notarized also. Good luck!

we had to have separate applications for each child.  they do not have to be present when you go through the application process though.  Go to the British High Commission (Embassy) website in the US.   they were the best source of information

For my two boys, two separate application forms had to be filled out, but only one appointment made to cover the three of us.

It varies according to consulate.  The last time I had a spouse in NYC, they wanted a separate form for each person.
