We have friends with young kids coming in to Stansted Airport, picking up a car and then driving to a tube or rail station on the Central Line (maybe Epping, Loughton or Woodford) to dump the car and then tube into central London for a night , before heading back out the next day to come up to Yorkshire by car to see us ....
Anyway, from speaking to the tube people, their station car parks are not for overnight stays (apparently to discourage long stay parking) and an overnight stay would run the risk of a fine or a clamp - yikes!
So, does anyone know anywhere on street that you can park near a tube station in NE London for one night???!!
I did recommend that they only pick the car up from the airport on the second day of their visit, but it's all booked now and they freaked out at the cost of the train from Stansted - £25 return each!!!
Any ideas welcome!
