Immigration to the US

Hi Guys

            I have recently graduated at Master's level. I am an archaeologist by trade and am looking to move over and work in the US.

I find the US visa system very confusing and was wondering if anyone had advice. My current understanding is I would need sponsorship from a workplace to get a work visa, which would last three years but could be renewed for another two.

Any advice would be gratefully received as I am keen to spread my wings ASAP.

Hi! I am a USC currently living in the UK with my spouse. We're in the process of obtaining a visa for him, so I don't have a lot of information about US immigration that doesn't deal with spousal visas...but, just wanted to point you to a forum that deals with US immigration and most of the people on there have moved from the UK so they might be able to help you. Have you considered a PhD and then a post doc?

I have been through all the 'immigration' process of moving to UK from US and spent 3 years over there.  I went on a fiancee visa and then got married.

I belonged to a forum that helped me through the process a great deal - which was www.visajourney.com.
