About the 3 month visiting visa. Its only recent that they changed it from 6 months to 3 months. I don't even think it has took place yet, last I remember it wasn't going into effect until spring time

The non-EEA bit kicks in now with a grace period running to 13 Jan 2006; The reduction from 6 months to 3 months for non-visa nationals (e.g., Americans) follows that

Looking at the IND website, there are some changes to the visitors rules that come into effect tomorrow but this does not seem to be one of them

Hi suzie, what length of times were you staying for when you got pulled ?

geedouble, i was staying for two weeks on my return ticket.   I think I must have gotten someone who was in a bad mood, since then I have had no problem and was never issued any paperwork or number, so I do not think I was 'deported' or 'removed'.   In my letter to  the consulate,  I have stated that, and the only thing I can hope is that they will take it all in context.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.
