Our Fiance Visa Application
« on: March 08, 2006, 01:24:10 AM »
Hi everyone,

So I have just applied for Fiance visa for me and for visa for my kids to come with me to UK. I am trying not to think about it an just wait patiently, but i am having trouble. I was thinking about our package and I have realized that I sent all our passports but no birth certificates.  Now that I am rereading everything I know that it says they need them.  Did I really mess up here!

If they will defiantly need them then should i just send another envelope with them in to same address and write letter asking them to be included in our package or should I wait for them to call and ask for it and tell me where to send it.  Should I phone them and ask.  UPS just delivered our package this morning and I have not received an email verifying that they have it.

I'm really hoping this will not cause a huge delay.

Thank you once again for your advice.

I don't see why they would need birth certificates, although I suppose it is possible they will for your children.

Don't worry - if they need them I am sure they will just call and ask you.

Hello again everyone.  I just have to say that waiting for this visa is a bit on the hellish side.  It's amazing what my mind is doing with this time.  I am a bit on the anxious side therefore i am of course fearing the worst.  I have found so many things that I have not done the way others have.  like the birth certificates.  I think I'm just venting more than anything right now.  This site has been great.  We both really appreciate everyones advice and help.  We are always like uhm should we do this this way or that way,  lets ask the forum  :)  i miss my baby and I really hope everything goes well even with all my little mess ups on our application.  Thank you again all.  We will keep you informed of our progress.

PS does anyone know how I can contact the LA consulate to ask a few questions, we have a few general enquiries to make. We tried ringing the numbers, they all divert us to the premium number. We can't seem to get this premium number to work either. I have heard of people emailing them, does anyone know of an email address we could direct our questions to?  or maybe a phone number that would get us throuhg to an actual person at the consulate?

How's the progress so far? Mine is not great. I sent in my Fiance Visa application March 8th and it still is being reviewed. This makes me believe they are questioning something or having a problem with the application in some way. It seems most people on here have their Visa's within 3 days. This is making me nervous as I am supposed to be in the UK in less than 2 weeks.
Anyone else have a long wait for their Visa?

Hi,

Well I got a call on  friday.  the lady was very nice.  she called to tell me that there would be a delay because of my refusal at heathrow but that it wouldn't be too long.  also she wanted me to send birth certificates for the kids and something about the wedding.  it has only been 7 days for us including the weekend and i faxed the stuff she asked for yesterday.  where did you send your application.  i wouldnt worry.  i didnt get anything saying they had received my package and didnt get a call until the end of the week.  Good luck to you.  please do keep us updated.

UPDATE!

Ok- so now I am really worried. They just called me and I have a phone interview for tomorrow. Is this a bad thing? I don't know what the problem could be except that I am recently divorced- do you think this raised a flag with them? I will be on edge until tomorrow....
Any advice?

I had a phone interview and was a nervous wreck. I kept trying to figure out why I was chosen for an interview and what any potential problems may be. The interview basically asked the same questions on the application and was very easy and straight forward. At the end of the conversation they let me know the visa was approved. I truly believe now they just randomly select people for interviews---don't worry!

How recently divorced are you?  I can't imagine why you'd be having problems...were you denied entry ever?

No I've never been denied entry. I was divorced March 1st and I mailed my application on March 3rd so this may be what they question. We had been separated for a very long time and he was out of the country for awhile which is why I waited so long for the divorce. I cannot think of any other reason

My divorce was final days before hubs flew to the states and we got married.  I applied for my spousal visa 3 months after the wedding since I didnt move here until two weeks ago.  Maybe they just want to ask you about the divorce being so close to when you applied.  Good luck thoughts coming your way!!

Thank you all for being so supportive and helping me worry a little less. I will post again tomorrow after the interview and let you all know how it went.
I think it will be ok!

hello everyone.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all of your time and advice.  I just recieved our visas in the mail today (i missed the fed ex guy yesterday or would have had them then)  so we will be off to the Uk in about two weeks.

if i could change one thing about how I applied for the visa I would have not worried as much.  alot of restless days for nothing.  (yes i know easy to say now that it's over but i guess some of us have to go through it in order to realize that).

we wish you the best of luck

Exactly! I just got my Visa in the mail yesterday as well and I really did worry for nothing. What are we a bunch of criminals? I worried like I had done something wrong or like I had no business wanting to be with the man I love. How dare I ??? haha
So- congrats to everyone who has stressed and laboured over this and gotten their Visa's and for those who have not- keep working on it and don't give up and we will be here for you if you need to vent.

:)
