Have you read this?  Help!
« on: December 01, 2003, 06:30:55 PM »
Something has been stuck in my head and I'm trying to find out a) who wrote it, and b)where I can read it again.

It was an essay we read in high school, written by a famous male writer about his time spent in a British boys' school.  He described how they all used the same towel after a bath and how, when he had a collapsed lung, they made him run miles in the cold to try to "fix" it.

Did anyone else read this?  Do you remember who wrote it?

I am not sure but it seems to be in line with George Orwell. "Such such were the Days". It sounds familiar.  Will check back if husband has any further ideas!
