Spousal Visa Application complete!
« on: July 13, 2006, 12:01:47 PM »
....and now we wait. :P

If anyone remembers from my "Leaving FL for the UK" topic in the welcome threads - we had planned on applying at the beginning of 2007 and reevaluating our situation from there.

But this past weekend, we asked ourselves what were we waiting for - and made the application online.  I couldn't get our follow-up documents in the post until Tuesday.  We made it really nice, with all documentation in clear sheets in a 1/2 inch 3 ring binder with a cover sheet.  Since we've been married over 7 years, it was notta problem coming up with a lot of that info - plus pics - plus our net worth - etc.

Guess this week will feel like an eternity until we get a respose.  Wife doesn't see any problems, but I always get nervous when dealing with government entities.  I used to be Fed - and I know how it works.  :-\\\\

2Hybrids - Good luck with your application.

I've been married for 4 years and will be going for ILE as well.  Can I ask how much "evidence of relationship" stuff you included?  (I've already asked here and gotten good answers, but I'm just curious.)  I am planning on including my IRS tax transcripts and our bank accounts are all joint, so I might throw in a few old statements.  I wasn't going to bother with photos, since they aren't dated.  But I suppose sticking one or two in there couldn't hurt.  Maybe.  Who knows.  I still have a couple of weeks left to decide.

Hi Carrie,

We basically found every piece of evidence that we are married and living together.  Marriage certificate, joint IRS statements, joint bank statements, photo's showing that we've aged and one's of us with our 2 children.  This together with the documentation showing our finances and all the other stuff required and that was about it.

My sister-in-law and brother-in-law applied after being married for 2 days in NY (she being British and him American) and they had no trouble...he was exonerated from death row after 23 years and managed to get a visa so I'm pretty hopeful.

Good luck

that is fascinating.

I was just discussing a case recently where a man was released after 18 years and  we wondered what happens for them after that....

it must be incredibly difficult.

PS That is one sweet baby.

Thanks for the reply - I never thought about the fact that we look older now than we did when we met/got married.   ::)

I'm really not worried about our application being approved.  No reason it shouldn't be.

VISA APPROVED!   :D

Just got the email at home.  I X'd out the Fedex ref number for this quote:

Quote
Your application has been approved and the visa has been issued.

It will be delivered by  Federal Express Their reference number is xxxxxxxxxxxx

This is an automated message - do not respond to this email address as incoming mail is not answered.  If you need to reply telephone the office dealing with your application, quoting your reference number.

This is an awesome feeling.....now we just gotta get our house sold!
