fingers crossed!
« on: February 21, 2006, 02:14:22 PM »
well we have an appointment for tomorrow morning at 11-20 to apply for the ILR!

short version of the story is..... hubby got his original spousal visa in jan 04 but being in the army he couldnt get here until march 04. Because of this it left a 2 month difference in the visa so after many phone calls to the home office we were told to apply for an extension of FLR. Imagine our horror when that came back this morning telling us it was rejected!!!!!

After another phone call to home office it turns out he has been granted an extension but as he has been here 23 months now he can apply for flr straight away and NOT have to pay for the extension! seems someone there made a mistake ( we arent gonna question it lol)

soooooo fingers crossed for tomorrow (its gonna be a sleepless night tonight)

well so much for applying in person....they admitted we had been given wrong info on the phone as to when we could apply for ILR but the lady in Liverpool was great.. she called her supervisor ,who called her supervisor who then took the info etc and said dont worry we will hang onto the papers and process it all this week(we were 3 days early in processing it all ) then send it on to you.

guess what we got in the mail today  ;D
Hubby is now a permanent resident of the UK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YAY!!!   ;D
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.
