Coming through immigration into the UK
« on: February 23, 2006, 11:41:57 PM »
When Chris came over to the UK in October 05 (he is here for 6 months) I got called into to talk to the immigration officer and Chris was the other side she had talked to him already after asking some questions she said fine I am going to let him through and stamp his passport which she did it had a box with 6 months stamped on it and a smaller box with her signiture on in it I think, I just want to check that there is nothing that we need to deal with when we apply for Christies visa, he was not refused and they gave him the 6 months he came for, are we likely to be asked about being questioned by the IO When we go to  the consulate to put Chris's application into them?

Sonya and Chris.

No, I got one of those as well once.  They just do that so they see someone talked to him once before.  Nothing to worry about. (No one ever mentioned it to me)

Thats great I just dragged Chris's passport down to take another look at it and it just says in the big box leave to remain for 6 months no recourse to puplic funds  and a ref number written in pen at the top and the other stamp they use when you enter the country this stamp actually gives the number of the immigration officer to for anyone who needs to put a complaint in I just noticed it.

I had a stamp like that as well.  They asked about it when I applied for my spousal visa (NYC, 2003) and I explained that I'd admitted that I was entering to visit my boyfriend, which made the IO suspicious.  Wasn't a big deal at all, though.  ;)

Yep, don't worry, like I said I had it, and Lola had it and we are sitting pretty living in the UK ;D

No one asked me a thing about it when I got my visa in NYC.

Yes the lady who did the stamp said they question everyone as the norm if they are coming into the UK for more than a few months especially if it is for 6Months, I just thought the stamp was something they did even if they did not pull you in so to speak I did not even think about it till I read something on here but glad I checked it out.

Thank you

Sonya and Chris
