Hello all!  I am new to the sight and am seeking info about the Highly Skilled Migrant programme.  I believe that I qualify under the recently changed rules for applicants under 28 but I have a few questions.  What can prevent you from being issued a visa if you meet the points criteria?  Can you take employment outside your area of experitise while looking for something in your field?  How long does the process take to complete?

Any help would be appreciated!  Thanks for all of the info on this sight, it has already been very helpful!

Hi,

Even if you meet points criteria, you still have to prove that you meet following additional requirements:

01. knowledge of English language
02. Your capacity to support yourself and dependent family on reaching the UK till you find the job, and this sometimes could take months
03. Your ability to find and get job in your chosen field of activity.

I recently came across a forum which is dedicated to HSMP community only and you can visit the same at following URL:

newcomer link: http://www.hsmp-services.co.uk/forums.php [nonactive]

It is a failry new site but has good topics of interest to HSMP aspirants. check it out.

i hope this helps you
