Green Card requirements for UK spouse

For those Americans who have decided to move/move back to the US with your British spouses, what is the process like? Aside from the obvious Green Card, is there anything else that is needed? Is the application process for a Green Card/Spouse Visa similar to that of the UK?

We are currently living in England with me on a spouse visa, but we have decided to move back to the US in a year or two, and I would like to get started on the US visa process for my husband as soon as possible.

The process can can be very lengthy, good thing to allow yourself plenty of time.

Thanks! I'll have a good read through tonight. I've also just seen the DCF thread so I'll look at all of that as well.

Loads of us here have gone through the DCF process, and while it does change slightly due to changing fees and laws, hopefully we can still offer a bit of help when the time comes. The websites Maddierose suggested are great as well, good luck!
