what happens when I arrive in the UK?
« on: March 22, 2006, 10:35:41 PM »
Ok got my visa and am all excited :) One week!! WOO! :)

So when the time comes and I am in that line, do I just hand them my passport? Im assuming its been coded into my passport or whatever, but last time they couldnt scan my passport for some reason. Do I tell them I have a visa? Or what? :P

Ive just been through too much to end up having them wondering hehe ;)

And totally non relevant question, but how do they decide where it goes? Its in the middle, was it just random placement or is there a method to their madness? ;)

I always put my landing card inside my passport, on top of my visa so when they open it, they see my visa right off.  You don't have to tell them anything.  It's all in your passport.  They may ask you about your prior refusal but just answer honestly.  Answer their questions, don't offer more information than they ask and be calm.  You got the visa.  Why would they refuse you entry?  Easy, they won't.
Love your life, poor as it is. You may perhaps have some pleasant, thrilling, glorious hours, even in a poorhouse. The setting sun is reflected from the windows of the almshouse as brightly as from the rich man’s abode; the snow melts before its doors as early in the spring. Cultivate property like a garden herb, like sage. Do not trouble yourself much to get new things, whether clothes or friends. Turn the old; return to them. Things do not change; we change. Sell your clothes and keep your thoughts…

I'm resisting the urge to say, "they stuff you head first into a big burlap bag and nobody ever sees you again." Mostly because I don't know if that's true or not; I haven't done it yet.
