Roller Disco!

When was the last time you went rollerskating?  I don't mean rollerblading.  I'm talking proper 4-balanced-wheels, front-stopper, going-around-the-rink rollerskating.
One of my old workmates organised a night out last night at Roller Disco near Kings Cross in London.  They have three dancefloors/rinks each with a different theme, playing different types of music. 
Ok, the last time I went rollerskating was probably 15 years ago.  But every birthday party that any of my schoolmates had between the ages of 6 and 9 was at one of our local roller rinks. 
Add on a few decades, a few beers, some 70s/80s costumes, and rollerskating is still a blast!

the last time?  Um, probably 1975.

I used to go a lot in the 80's there was a rink near us.  I loved it.  I know I still have my white skates with red wheels somewhere in my parents house.

Josh and I actually went roller skating in December before he left for London.    There was one near our house and we thought it might be cool. I used to go rollerskating all the time when I was a kid. We had a good time, but on our last lap around the rink, Josh fell flat on his back and hit his head. He still swears that a little kid came by and pushed him, but that just didn't happen. I still laugh everytime I think about it.

I was so bad at it, but I loved it!! The last time I went was probably when I was in highschool -- 1980 or '81, I'm guessing. I belonged to a service club and we used to take groups of kids to the roller rink on weekends once in a while. I've never been able to even stand up on roller blades, so I really do miss proper old-school rollerskates!

That sounds like soooo much fun!  I was a roller disco diva....sounds like it should be a support group!!!

Yeah I agree with Mindy - let's go!  We were talking about doing this for our team night out at work but the guys vetoed us.  I really want to go though!
