I'm currently waiting to hear back from the UK Home Office (government) regarding my company's request to obtain a 5 year UK work permit for me. Our lawyers in the UK have advised that the response won't take longer than 2 weeks to come back (we applied this week). Some questions from those with experience:
1) Has anybody had the experience of going to a UK consulate (NY, LA, SF, etc..) to get their work permit stamped?
2) Is there any uncertainty at this point? I'm a US citizen who is very well invested in the United States - I only want to work in the UK for a few years to help out business grow, no intention of permanently staying in the UK
3) How long did it take you from the time you applied for a work permit to the time you got invited to come and get your passport stamped?
4) Finally - what does the passport stamp look like? is it cool or is it lame?
thanks
