The Final Four: GMU, baby!!!!
« on: March 27, 2006, 01:02:23 PM »
Anybody else here from the Washington, D.C. area? I'm a proud alumnus of George Mason University, a school that most college basketball fans had never heard of until this March Madness.

That said: anyone know where I can catch the game against Florida on Saturday in London?  I know about Sports Cafe and I haven't heard good things about that place.  I might try Bodeans but it's not a huge sports pub, most people who go there are just eating.  In my next career, I'm going to open a decent US sports pub in London, God knows this town needs such a place!

Aw, I used to be so into college hoops back in the US. But ... out of sight, out of mind, I guess. I was always a Big East fan, though (go Providence College!). No idea who even made the tourney this year. :(

Who else is in the Final Four?

I'm so excited for them!  I am an alumnus as well (class of '02).  I wish cool things had happened when I went there!  The basketball team was barely above intramural status!  Perhaps this will bring some much needed school spirit to the school and to Fairfax!  They sorely lacked it when I went there--no one care about anything that happened on campus.

The tournament is airing over here on NASN, but unfortunately I don't get that channel.

Go Mason! [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

Wow! Another GMU alumnus in the UK!  Would you be interested in joining a London chapter? I know of 4 mason grads in London at the moment. A bunch of us are getting together to watch the game Saturday at The Sports Cafe if you're interested. PM me for details.

I was SOOOO rooting for y'all! But, even with the loss, what a great story it was with GMU making it to the Final Four! Hello, Cinderella! Certainly nothing to be unhappy about!

Having said that, being a USC alumna, I was just happy that ucla got blown out by Florida!  ;D Go Gators!
