Fiance Visa to FLR
« on: March 29, 2006, 11:56:49 AM »
Hi,

My Fiance's visa is due to expire on 7 August and we are getting married on 29 July.

As far as I can make out to get the FLR we can go to Croydon in person and get the new Visa as soon as we are married.  Is this the case?

However, we would obviously like to go on Honeymoon straight away.  Does anybody know if it is possible to gain an extension of say 2 weeks or a month to allow us to do this.  Then once we are back from Honeymoon to go and get the FLR Visa.

Any help or guidance would be much appreciated?

Thanks

Honeymoon inside the UK?  or outside?

Outside - ideally as far away from Croydon as possible!

As you say, you can apply in person and get the FLR the same day.  You could make an appointment for the day after the wedding and then leave for your honeymoon the next day.

Well, you can get an extension using the FLR(O) form, but if she isn't going to be here, it's not clear why you would want to do that.   Or you can simply go to Croydon after your ceremony and get FLR by making an in person application.

If you're set on a honeymoon outside the UK, then applying in person would be your only option.

If not, I can heartily recommend the Howbeck guest house in Windermere in the Lake District.  ;D
