Did you know there's a 24 hour NHS help-line??

I used it last night.  I'm was over at my husband's grandparent's house and used his grandmother's facial steamer kit.  Well, I went to pour the water out and poured it on my hand instead. 

I called the help-line to see if I should go to the A&E and spoke to a nurse who said I should go.  But, the nearest A&E is 20miles away, so I decided to wait till morning (my hand is okay now).

In any case, its good to know if you have a health related question, there's a nurse you can call!

Do you mean NHS Direct? I used it one night when Ethan was throwing up and the nurse was really helpful.

i used it once a long time ago for an embarrasing question.  they took my details and a nurse rang within 1/2 hour.  very helpful & put my mind at rest.  great service.

i've also used their online service for more general questions, not urgent.  they're really helpful as well. 

we rang it in the middle of the night once when our not-yet-legal son came home so wasted on vodka we seriously thought he might have alcohol poisoning. I was worried there might be legal repurcussions since he was so obviously underage, but they just helped and advised and were really good.

I  love NHS Direct. Great resource!
