Question?? Well 2 really!!
« on: June 23, 2006, 10:06:43 AM »
1 My husaband will eventually move here on a spousal visa once he leaves the military. HE wants to study for a degree over here. Will he still be classed as an iternational student once he gets his visa, or as a UK citizen when applyingto universities.

2. BEcause he has been in the US military he is entitled to use the GI Bill almost $40,000 to Education tuition, we cannot find out anywhere and are being passed pillar to post . whether he can use these benefits at a UK university or not. I know it is only a slim chance that someone would know the answer to this second question, but i thought i would give it a shot.

Thanks
Sharon

He'll be classed as an international student for the first three years, though he might be able to pay home fees if he studies part time -- that depends on the uni in question.

My guess would be that he would not be able to study on his GI Bill thingy over here.  It's probably only for studying in the US.

I hope that link words.

The G.I. Bill is administrated by the Department of Veteran's Affairs and they have a whole section about international study and the requirements you have to meet to use the G.I. Bill abroad.  There is also a link to an online approval form on that page which has to be submitted in order for school/programme to be eligible for the G.I. Bill.
