Yes I like to watch Rugby, Football(UK) Ice Skating,and being that Iam from Kentucky,the Kentucky Derby of course!

I used to play in my previous life (living in the US), involved in softball leagues, and ten-pin bowling leagues. Does carting kids to their sports activities count as well? I sorely miss the comraderie of it, I've no idea if the local bowling lanes here have leagues or not, I've not been it yet, as I prefer to bowl with my own ball and shoes, house supplied normally stink. When my little ones are all in school next fall, I will be investigating.

As for watching, I enjoy watching footie, baseball, and basketball, but rarely do. I was sucked into watching the world dart championship finals recently, at first I was bored stiff but then started paying attention and it was quite good. There was a Geordie announcer that had me rofl with his comments.

 We went to a bowling center in London,and it wasnt too bad.My Mom has been a secretary at a local bowling center for years so all of our family has been involved in bowling some way.Amber was on a children's league for awhile too.

Love the rugby, darts, snooker, tour de france.. and because it's Sean's job, I'm sort of forced to watch F1

I am absolutely in love with cricket.  At first I thought it was boring, and couldn't imagine a game that could go on for 5 days, but my first summer here I got hooked.  Now my husband and I have been members of Gloucestershire County Cricket Club for the past 3 years, and I love going to the county games and have been to several international games as well.  It is a very nice way to spend a sunny summer day - sitting outside, watching the game, having a bottle of wine and just relaxing.  And Shane Warne is pretty nice to look at (although he is banned from playing at the moment)!

I also really like rugby.  I knew a lot of people who played when I lived in Boston, and I even played a few games for a women's team when I lived there.  I don't play now, but love to watch it.

And finally, and craziest of all, I actually really like watching snooker on television.  I'm amazed how they can figure out the angles to pot the balls.

Snooker's fantastic to watch.  I surprised myself by liking it.  It's one of those things I can't take my eyes off of.  I miss getting to watch it every night around dinner time this time of year as I'm not there.  :-/

I *love* playing pool, but stink like donkey at it. I was going to take lessons, then I got pregnant and, well, *expanded* a bit. Much harder to bend down. When we move to the States David & I are both set on getting a pool table, and I *will* take lessons because I want to beat him!

In high school I was on my golf team and softball team, and really miss playing sports in general. I hope to get back into it...

Also, if you go a-googling for "cricket baseball" you'll find a number of articles comparing and contrasting the two games, which might be handy for those with a knowledge of baseball.

Down here in Sussex there is a very ancient bat-and-ball game still played called stoolball (William Bradford in his Journal refers to its being played by the Pilgrim Fathers), and is a bit like a half-way house between cricket and baseball.  What's really nice about it is that it is often played by mixed-sex sides, and the players always ends up at a pub after the match!

I don't play as I'm crap at playing sports. Despite being tall, everyone at school thought I would be great at basketball but considering I fractured my ankle in gym one day playing, that kind of put that myth to rest.

I do love to watch sports though. Back in the US I've gone to see ice hockey, football and baseball games. I've been to a basketball game once but still couldn't really get into it. I also fell in love with Australian Rules Football when I went through a bad insomnia period and it was on late late late night tv almost every night. Haven't seen it in years though.  

Over here I still make sure to record hockey and football to watch the next day. The husband doesn't like sports but still sits with me to watch most of the games and keep me calm.  

I'll watch rugby if it's on in a pub but it always makes me wish I could find some Australian Rules on the tv though.  :-/

  Yes she is correct women do talk more than men, sometimes i wonder what they find to talk about especially on the phone for hours on end...

Sports...hmmmm, I was an ex-sports widow...so I am prone to stay away from it on the TV now...  but I do not mind watching a bowling match or a golf match now and then...and I love the f-1 grande prix...

as far as playing...  mostly bicycles riding and walking...  but I use to belong to some bowling leagues..(Tom does not play) and I grew up on snow ski's (not many places here and Tom does not know how) so I donated my ski's to a hospice charity shop back home...I figure if I get the odd chance to ski...it will be wiser to rent now rather than shipping and caring for my set now.
