Hello from Colorado USA
« on: February 25, 2004, 01:49:43 PM »
Hi.  I'm Nan and just wanted to introduce myself.  I visited London recently and fell in love with the city and the people.  I would like to move to the UK and came to this site looking for any advice that anyone can give me on how to go about finding employment so that I can immigrate to the UK.  I am really serious about moving and if able, will apply for UK citizenship when I am able.
I work in dispatch for the police department in Colorado and have a background in law.  I have also worked as a videotape editor for US networks ABC, NBC and FOXNews.
I have been reading thru some of the posts and hope to get to know many of you in the future.
Regards~
Nan :D

Hi Nan

I take it you like Islington in particular? That's where I live.

Anyway welcome to the site and good luck with everything just ask if there's anything you need to know.

Yes I loved Islington.  Stayed at a B&B on Highbury Terrace.  Went to an Arsenal game and fell in love with the area and the people there.  Too bad I had not found this site before then.  We could have hooked up for a drink.  Saw your wedding pics.  Great ears!

Hi Nan!  Welcome to the site.  I'm sure you'll find lots of info here about your options for immigration.  (I'd highly recommend the Visa section.)

Glad you had a good time in London recently and I agree that Islington is a very nice place.  :)

Indeed we would have loved to have shown you the best pub in Islington (Hemingford Arms) which is away from the insanity of Upper St.

I am not a football fan but my husband in his quest to integrate into the English way of life, not to mention he enjoys all sports anyway, absolutely loves it and Islington is certainly the place to be for that!

Hi there Nan.  I mentioned to you in another thread that I cant seem to find anymore about the Highly Skilled Migrant Program, because it sounds like you have a lot of professional experience.

I posted the link to some info about it in the visa section in the thread "Investment Visa"
check it out and the link will tell you if you qualify.

best of luck!!
