My two cats and I flew to the UK today and all was well! You might remember I had the issue that they were re-routed into Gatwick while I was flying into Bristol. It worked out fine that by the time we got to Gatwick they were finished being processed and we loaded them into the car right away. What a stressful (and expensive!) process for all of us, but it was worth it in the end! I'm so happy they're here and they seem to be settling in nicely.
For those going through the process now, I highly recommend reading the previous Pet Scheme posts and educating yourself. Even if your vet tells you they've done this before, don't believe them. My vet said the same thing and he seemed surprised when I told him to sign everything in blue ink and he wrote the dates incorrectly even though the form says to do it dd/mm/yy. He also didn't give me the correct paperwork I needed to take to the USDA vet. If you're in Maryland, the USDA vet in Annapolis is FANTASTIC! Oh, and be ready to pull out the credit card at the drop of a hat!
