All right people, give me the scoop!
« on: June 02, 2006, 05:03:28 PM »
The weather is great so what is everybody goin to do.  The internet is no help in finding things to do for DW and I, are there any festivals or carnivals or fairs going on anywhere this weekend?  We are close to Stockton so we can easily get to York, Newcastle, Whitby.  We are castled out and sick of abbys so what else is there to do!  Please o please, somebody give some advise.  Keep in mind that DW is pregnant so we are not going to a pub, I know that knocks about 98% of the things to do around here out but there has to be something going on!  Are there any good putt-putt facilities that anyone knows about?  Man do we miss a good round of putt-putt.  We can't golf because of the pregnancy either, but DW is outdoorsy so hit me with your best shot.

And yes, I know all about taking a nice long walk......

Bloodied, but not beaten!

I thought you might be able to do a boat trip down the Tyne, so I googled and came up with this...

There must be something there!  Hadrian's Wall is a must, though I liked the ice cream factory more!

Just off the A19 and it's a great place, I took my DF there whilst he was here last October and he became smitten with a swan.  The damn thing bit me, and he then decided to call it Flappy because of the noise the feet made.  He liked it so much he went back again rather than visit someplace else.

There are plenty of nature trails, and you can feed all the ducks and wotnot, it has a picnic area, kiddies play area and a restaurant and giftshop.  Great day out.

I'd recommend getting a couple of super deluxe sun loungers, some good books and just lolling in the garden all day! ;D
