Holy COW  :o There is some misleading information on these websites. When I began my research, I came across the photo specifications - and they DO NOT (freaking out here) match these links. I went back into the website and found the link I followed and it gave very specific facial positioning for the pics (have to show right ear, etc) - and they don't match what was on those links  :o I even printed out the page and brought it with us when we took our pictures. I think I will e-mail the embassy to get the scoop on the information I was provided. My best guess is that I am a plonker (love that word) and I will re-post as soon as I get an answer.

You and me both.  :D  Seems I've been emailing the embassy quite often these days and the replies are quick, concise and accurate.... Ummm, no mention of my nifty friend who's name I won't mentioned ((hmmm, ummmm**aaahchooAndy**sniff))) who has seems to givem me some misinformation. :P

Here's some information that I found off of this site http://www.usembassy.org.uk/cons_web/visa/iv/ds2001.htm which is specifically for Instructions for Immigrant Visa Applicants Applying for a Visa in London

"Four color photographs. These photographs must have a white background and must be glossy, unretouched, unmounted, and identical. The dimension of facial image should be about 1 inch from chin to the top of the hair; the subject should be shown in 3/4 frontal view showing the right side of face with the right ear clearly visible. No earrings should be worn.

Follow this link for a list of photographers in close proximity to the Embassy." http://www.usembassy.org.uk/cons_web/visa/iv/localphoto.htm

Here is the link I followed:
http://uscis.gov/graphics/formsfee/forms/i-130.htm

That is the screen to download the I-130 form.  Scroll down to the bottom and there is a Photo spec link. Can you check that for me? I am having Adobe errors - every time I have to bring it up today - it causes an error  ???
Anyway, that is where *I think* I found the specs.
Also, I think Andy needs to be *promoted* to another position within the embassy  :P
Thanks Yvonne!!!
P.S. - how long does it take them to respond to e-mail questions?

Okay - I just got an e-mail confirmation. . . And the link I posted above is the right photo specifications for the I-130 form. The reply I received is as follows: "They are the correct specification as per the USCIS form. "
Isn't this all crazy? Lots of different requirements for different situations  ::)

Why are they so fussy I wonder? What is wrong with just normal face-on photos?

god only knows. Maybe its something to do with the uniqueness of one's semi-profile.

Btw, dont worry about getting the expensive ADIT photos done. Just go into one of the passport photo booths - theyre like £3 and they work just fine for the embassy. They didnt have any problems with ours.

Also if they dont like your pix at the interview there's a passport photo booth inside the embassy loby by the toilets. You see it on the left side when you walk around the front desk.
