Third Trimester Rant
« on: January 19, 2004, 01:23:51 PM »
Oh God I wish Tylenol PM was ok to take during pregnancy!
I'm at 30 weeks on Tuesday, and GOD I feel pregnant! I can't sit up anymore from a reclining position and have to be pulled up or I have to roll over... it's such a strange feeling to have all this extra body in front of me that doesn't accomodate much movement. It feels like my pelvis is stretching. I know bones don't stretch, but well, it feels like it all moving around and getting bigger, preparing for The Big Push... and it hurts like a blankety blank! I haven't slept through the night for hip/pelvis/tailbone pain in ages... and hot baths seem to just aggravate me at the moment because they make my heart race, so that's a no go! I'm getting to the point where I just can't WAIT for Philip to arrive because I'm getting so annoyed with my body! I have to eat in a reclining position now as well, with my plate/food propped up on my ginormous belly. Now that he's bigger and has less room to play, I can feel him ALL the time, and that's still the coolest thing ever - except when he kicks my ribs or my stomach or tries to play tennis with my bladder... that's not so fun! Oh, and my mood swings were fine for a little while, and now they are a bit more interesting again.

So anyway, that's my third trimester update... his due date is getting closer and closer and closer, I can hardly believe that I'm full-term in 7 weeks and 2 days!

Can't. Wait. To. Have. Philip. Here!!!
I'm done moving. Unrepatriated back to the UK, here for good!

Enjoy all of it, Sara.  You'll miss all of it.  Including "when he kicks my ribs or my stomach or tries to play tennis with my bladder."

Trust me.  :-/

Aww (((Sarah)))..I remember that pain. :-/ And no bones don't stretch but the pregnancy hormones cause the ligaments that attach your pelvic bones to your spine to stretch to prepare your body for childbirth. So you're not imagining your pelvis is stretching...it IS. And yes it does hurt like a blankety blank. :P But the good news is it's all worth it and little Philip will be here before you know it. :D

Good luck, Marlespo. I'm at 41 weeks right now with my third baby and have had that pelvic pain since week 26. Try using an ice pack for 20 minutes on the hour. It doesn't take away the pain but it does numb it for a while. I do it before I have to cook dinner so I can actually stand for more than 5 minutes!

I'm with you on the Tylenol PM. Oh well, in the next week he will make his exit.  ;D (my baby, that is....)

Best of luck to you!!
