I got married in a pink suit from Debenham's which is now way too big and is hanging in the closet. I'll probably charity shop it.

one of my grandmothers had her dress cut down into a suit which she got a lot of use out of.  my other grandmother donated hers to her parish church- they used it to make vestments for the priests.

After the wedding in February I'm not sure what I'll do with mine.  Definitely won't sell it or charity shop it.  I''ve lost weight already and plan on losing more after the wedding so it will need some altering.  Might have it altered or remade, possibly dyed, and wear to a renaissance faire in future. Might just clean and pack it carefully away for future kids.

Mine's in a dress bag in our loft, complete with dirt all over the hem 'cause I couldn't afford to get it cleaned. LOL. I think one day I'll probably have it cut down to tea length - it was a technically a bridesmaid dress that I ordered in a wedding dress-ish colour. It would make a cute party dress. Right now it doesn't even zip up though - apparently all I've done is eat for the past year!!!  :o

Mine is dry cleaned, preserved and at mom's house.  I will see if I have a daughter and either figure out how to use it as a dress or turn it into something else.  It was not expensive, but I am sentimental.  If we don't have a daughter well... who knows.  Mom still has my Christening gown.

Don't worry, I've been married 4 years and my dress is still hanging up in MIL's spare room. It's in its bag but well-covered with a sheet so it doesn't get discoloured by the sun, etc. I keep meaning to get it dry cleaned and packed away, but I'm wary of dry cleaners and don't really trust them with my dress.

Right now it doesn't even zip up though - apparently all I've done is eat for the past year!!! :o

AnneR, when I first arrived in the UK in Aug 2000, I was 8 stones 3lbs (115lbs). At 5'6" with long legs and arms, I was rather thin! I did gain a bit by the wedding in July 2001, but enough to fill out my dress, which was a size 10. Now I'm 12.5 stone (& I won't even mention my size)!! I've gained A LOT of weight and don't like it one bit! It's not as if I eat loads, though. Definitely need to get back to the gym and eat healthier! I need to lose about 50lbs to get to a more comfortable weight/size!

Mine is hanging up in the wardrobe, in a suit bag.
I dont have a sentimental attachment to it, but it's slightly damaged, so i dont think i could sell it on ebay (it's got a chiffon skirt which got snagged in a few places..), so i will probably just donate it to charity at some stage.  I tend to forget i've even got it!

finally got rid of mine last week when the charity bag was collected!

might flog mine on ebay.  it's a pink Episode sheath dress that's a UK size 8.  don't think i'll ever fit into that again!  it's really lovely, but man, my hips were narrow then . . .

I am trying to decide what to do with my dress.  It's beautiful and has the sentimental value from the day, but I need to get rid of some of this clutter.  It's about 2 sizes too large now, and I sure hope it never fits me (like that) again.  This is the dress:

Mine is a light green sort of flowing thing i got in the maternity shop here.  I wasn't very big when we got married so i can wear it again.  Thought i'd save it and wear it out on our first anniversary, after that, who knows.  Mine wasn't really a wedding-style dress though, so wearing it out again won't look so odd.

If you are still in the states, you can donate it to the Linus Society - they make quilts and blankets for children in the local hospitals.

My first wedding dress, I donated it and a friend said there was so much material, my dress went into more than 100 blankets.  I liked creating a circle of love.

My latest wedding dress, it's not a true "wedding" dress - it's more of a ball gown so I'm keeping it.  May shorten the skirt on it, but I'm keeping it.

Mine has been drycleaned and is hanging in the closet.  I plan to dye it, but I haven't been able to find a place to do this.

Just got married (June 10th) and shipping the dress off to be cleaned and preserved in a box tomorrow. Then I'll probably just leave it here with my family, not going to lug it all the way to England for no reason lol.

I left mine with my ex - he probably sold it! lol

I didn't bother with a special dress for my wedding this time around - wasn't worth it for just me, him and the JP! We still had a great day nevertheless.
