the coverage here in the UK has been fantastic. they have had everygame on the tele everyday. Noway you get that kind of coverage in the states. If you did, you would have mass rioting in the streets. I will miss it in 4 years when i'm back home and only get to watch the US games that will be on at 3am.

All the WC games have been broadcast in the US. All of them. No riots yet!
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

what channels have they been on?  Have they all been on ABC/CBS/NBC?  If they have then I stand corrected.  But if not, then I stick by my assesment.  The games here have been on the US equivalent of free TV, you don't need to have cable or ESPN to have seen everygame.  What channels have they been on in the states?

I wouldn't say the coverage was great, nearly match that has been broadcast has had the BBC or ITV harp on about England. Commentary has been woeful. I found Motson and Lawrenson a disgrace to broadcasting, with their partisan french view of tonight's match. Motson commented that Rooney allegedly stamped on Carvahlo. He needs to go Specsavers. Oh, and ITV's adverts before kick off and straightaway at half time.

Somewhat along the lines of this topic is this article about baseball and soccer from ESPN.com's Jim Caple.

ABC has shown some of the games, my Mom and Dad watched almost a lot of the games.  They watched all the England games.

It can't have just been on ESPN because my Mom watched all the games (well, pretty sure she did!)and doesn't have cable.

ABC has been showing several of the games as well.  At normal times even!!!  Yep WC 06 has had extrodinary coverage by US standards
