Pics from my UK Trip
« on: July 29, 2006, 02:06:08 AM »
Finally!  Got my pictures organized from my UK trip earlier this summer, in late May/early June.

What a great 10 days.  I took over 1000 pictures or videos and I've managed to choose my 53 favorites.  :)

Feel free to comment on any photo there if you want.

Ahhhh, Lincoln and York!  That's where I spend lots of time over there, too :) I'm jealous, I haven't been for over a year! Hehe.  Awesome pics  :D

Ahhhh, Lincoln and York!

I'm pretty sure I spotted Edinburgh in there!  ;)

Lovely photos, MissIndigo.  Very nicely 'framed', and I enjoyed the different perspectives.
When I am grown-up I will understand how BEAUTIFUL it feels to administrate my life effectively.

Until then I will continue to TORCH all correspondence that bores me and to dance NAKED over the remnants of its still glowing embers.

Nicely done! I especially like the perspective shots, like the Lion in front of the Eye. When I try that I have trouble getting both things in focus. How did you do it?

I do remember having my camera on the auto setting for that shot of the Westminster Lion, so I didn't consciously set any values.  The aperture value was mid-range, f/5.6, and 1/1000 sec. exposure time (it was very bright), and I recall the focus locked in on the lion's face.

Overall though, using a larger aperture value should help bring foreground and background objects into focus.  I'm not an expert on this by any means, just having fun with interesting subjects and the technicalities that go into a good photograph, though I've become more serious about it in the past few months.  I'm glad you enjoyed the photos!

Thanks a bunch!  As for being professional...heehee...I'm just having fun with a hobby of mine (at which I hope to improve!).  I'm glad you enjoyed the pics!

The Big Ben shot lent itself to antiquing pretty well, I think.  It's one of my favorites too.
