which isnt helped by the fact that I have one leg shorter than the other, AND I walk funny to begin with ) so I have to get a low heel, probably no more than an inch, and it cant be very narrow.
Girl, you gotta get inserts or orthotics for your shoes. I have the same problem with different leg lengths. I don't want to spend to get full custom orthotics yet, but my chiropractor helped me find the right size heel insert. It's not perfect, but it only costs $5 and it helps a ton. I'm amazed at how different my body feels with it. I told my doctor that I hadn't realized that a lot of areas of my back, hips, legs, etc were hurting until they stopped aching all the time. I had just grown accustomed to it. People used to ask me if I was limping. I don't think I walked all that different just because of the leg thing, but it really has made a difference for me.
Yeah, I do better with flats, but I do still like heels. I can wear them much more now than before thanks to the inserts. I do love the fact that I'm tall (just under 6 feet), and I don't try to hide it. I don't tend to wear heels higher than 2-3 inches (I like my height, but I don't need to be mammoth woman). DF's family saw the dress I chose (long, straight, very simple) and commented on how they liked that it accentuated my height. They said, "if you've got it, flaunt it!" and told Andrew he needed to take a top hat to the US for the wedding so that I could be as tall as I wanted without him feeling self conscious about the height difference!
So who knows, maybe I'll wear heels after all. We shall see. Either way, I am just happy to be with him. It will be wonderful!
